Desensing - any solutions to feeling washed out?

Hi all.

I attended beginner and follow up workshops in 2012, and found them excellent. I remain grateful for the insights into myself gained, no matter what else happens. Things have been much better with my sense of self since but I also (from a purely practical pov), have many more misfires than successes when I try to urinate in public.

I am trying to get back into practising desensing more regularly, but find the washed out feeling afterwards really problematic. I basically have to find a day where I've nothing else on afterwards, as I feel headachy, weak, etc. Perhaps I am taking on too much liquid in the first place (about two litres, I'd say), but for the moment I need a fairly acute urgency to desense, so that's not going to change.

Has anyone found foods that are good to take post desensing, foods that stabilise, take away lightheadedness, etc?

Thanks!

Hi Norton

You probably are taking on too much liquid. Since you attended the workshops in 2021, we have reduced the recommended intake to one litre before the start of the workshop, allowing the one hour in the meeting room for urgency to build up. Do try that to see if it works i.e. leave plenty of time.
Secondly you could try using an electrolyte sports drink instead of water. I have no experience of them; however sports magazines advertise them and it should not be hard to find a review of them.
Its worth being aware that every food/drink item has a fatal volume: calculated as that volume that causes death in 50% of cases. Surprisingly for water it is about 5-6L taken over a short period of time; hence the fatalities caused by the thirst engendered by ecstasy.
So try 1L, leave plenty of time and let me know how to goes.
Oh and come along to another follow-up workshop?
Cheers

Hi Andrew.

Thanks for the help. What you say makes sense.

And I've often thought about attending a follow up workshop again; must do it.

Cheers.
