Support the UKPT

Please support our work

The UK Paruresis Trust is run on a voluntary basis. All officers undertake their duties voluntarily.

The majority of the income of the UK Paruresis Trust is by voluntary donations.  We have many expenses like telephone, administration, website, stationary, IT, postage etc.

We arrange weekend residential therapy workshops, and we would like to enable anyone to attend them, whatever their personal financial circumstances.

There are many other things we would like to do to reduce the stigma of paruresis, and encourage people suffering from the condition to come forward for help sooner rather than later. We would like to increase the awareness of paruresis in the general public, in the medical profession, and in other front line support organisations.

We need your help

All donations are welcome, no matter the size. To ease administration, regular payments by standing order (either monthly or annually) are particularly welcome.

Our bank details are as follows:

UKPT: sort code 40-31-02: account number 91452576.

If you prefer, you can donate by Paypal by using the button below. All donations are much appreciated and will directly support the work of the organisation.

Giving by text

  1. Send a text message to 70070, using the code HOPE 30 and the amount you want to give (£1, £2, £3, £4, £5 or £10) e.g. to donate £10 text HOPE 30 10
  2. You will receive a text message receipt, and the chance to add Gift Aid (by filling in a web form or by text message).
  3. If you don't add Gift Aid straight away, you will receive a reminder text 24 hours later so you don't miss out.
  4. The UKPT receives the donation in the month after you text it, totalled up into one amount along with all the other donations in the month, and any Gift Aid the month after that.
  5. You can text  this way as often as you wish

Note that as we do not know where the donation came from, other than by text, we cannot thank you personally. We are, however, very grateful for all donations received in this way.

Gift Aid

Gift Aid is an income tax relief designed to benefit charities. If you’re a UK taxpayer using Gift Aid means that for every pound you give, we get an extra 25p from the Inland Revenue, helping your donation to go further.

This means that £100 can be turned into £125, just so long as donations are made through Gift Aid. Imagine what a difference that could make, and it doesn’t cost you a thing.

All you need to do is fill out our Gift Aid Declaration (GAD) form in PDF format (Single Donation Form - Multiple Donation Form). This is a statement from you to the UKPT confirming that you want to donate through Gift Aid and receive tax back on your donation.

For the UKPT to claim Gift Aid on your donation, you must have paid UK Income or Capital Gains Tax that financial year. If your income is below £11,000, you won’t be able to claim Gift Aid on eligible donations.

If you’re a higher rate taxpayer, you can claim additional benefits for the donations you make to charity, which you can keep or pass on to a charitable organisation. Simply indicate how much you’ve donated when you complete your self-assessment form.
