CPPS/Prostatitis

I am posting this on behalf of Jim.

Hi there,

I've been diagnosed with CPPS/Prostatitis (Chronic Pelvis Pain Syndrome); prostatitis falls under this umbrella. I've had this for a few years now and it's really impacting my life ie bladder/bowel issues and lost mojo, my pelvic floor muscles are hypertonic, and my leg muscles are tight too. I do yoga every day but this doesn't seem to target the areas.

Is there anyone else that suffers with this and knows of any CPPS physios in the south-east Thames Valley area that could help?

Many Thanks

Jim

Have a look at "A Headache in the Pelvis" by D Wise PhD, and Dr Rodney Anderson: it shows that prostatitis is almost always a muscular rather than an infection problem. Also Tim Parks "Teach us to sit still" describes how he cured his prostate pain after a lifetime of pain by following their protocol.

The description of "a Headache in the Pelvis" is:
Psychologist David Wise lived for 22 years with agonising chronic pelvic pain (also known as prostatitis/CPPS). There was seemingly no cure, until he began to make the connection between his anxiety and his physical pain.

He enlisted renowned NeuroUrologist Dr Rodney Anderson from Stanford University to develop a revolutionary new method for muscle relaxation. Amazingly, a third of their patients were able to stop taking drugs within six months of beginning their new daily, holistic muscle relaxation treatment.

Sufferers of chronic pelvic pain are living a life of quiet desperation. For the first time, there is a solution that is helping patients empower themselves in their own healing and gain control over their chronic pain. Patients and medical practitioners across the US and UK have called this method 'life-changing'.

This audiobook is for patients who have tried everything to cure themselves of chronic pelvic pain and for the clinicians who want to work with their patients towards a long-term solution.

A description of "Teach me to sit still" is:
When Tim Parks fails to find a cause for his crippling chronic pain, he turns to meditation. This is, however, not your average self-help book or conversion story; instead, it is a refreshingly honest and profoundly moving introspection of one writer and his quest to overcome the inner battle between mind and body. A revelatory read with delightful cultural and literary references, Teach us to Sit Still by Booker-shortlisted author Tim Parks examines how the philosophy of 'sit still, relax and stop worrying' can be profoundly life-altering.
