ERIC (The Children's Bowel & Bladder Charity) have recently published an article about toilet anxiety in children: David's Story. Negative experiences in school toilets left David unable to use the toilet to pee. It was a problem that had become paruresis by the time he went to secondary school, and then continued long into his adulthood. He went on to become one of the founders of the UK Paruresis Trust after workshops showed him the way to manage his paruresis. He tells his story here.
