Posted on behalf of Christy:

I got so much from the weekend thanks to Andrew and Ian.....

I found the weekend to be very empowering, liberating and very informative and for the first time in my life I feel hopeful that I can move forward and release the hold AP has had on me. It was great to meet other men and hear their stories and know that I am not alone.

I now have support and people I can share with, this was the first AP workshop I ever attended and I would highly recommend it for anyone experiencing AP.

I'm happy to say that I attended the workshop too and agree with everything David and Michael have written.
Everyone came with their own level of shy-bladder difficulty. We all made big improvements over the weekend and left with a positive attitude and committment to continue in the right direction.

Thanks and good luck to everyone who was there.

I want to second David's comments about this weekend's workshop in Glasgow. The leaders couldn't have been more open, caring and supportive. I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to confront this phobia in an environment informed by their wealth of experience and by the bravery of the sufferers who came forward to participate.
I approached the workshop with a great deal of trepidation, I was met with warmth, understanding and a shared sense of commitment. If you have this condition and you have an opportunity to attend a workshop, take it. You won't regret it.

Friday seems so long ago already :) but I can still remember the anxiety I felt about going to the UKPT's first ever Glasgow based beginners workshop.

For years I had felt alone with this issue because no-one I had spoke to had heard anything about this condition. However, this all changed when I walked into the workshop as I was greeted with a small bunch of friendly people who all came from different walks of life and for once had the same problem as me!

The workshop, by far, has been one of the best experiences I have been involved in. The content itself was relevant and made sense to every single participant and once again it dragged us all from that dark lonely abyss that made us feel that we were the only ones who had this condition.

The workshop leaders are a true inspiration to shy bladder suffers and a real credit to the UKPT charity they represent.

The difference to my confidence, insight and overall outlook on having this condition has grew massively over this weekend.

Have I fully recovered? No. Neither did I expect to be in one weekend.

Am I in a better place than I was before attending this Beginner's workshop regarding suffering with shy bladder? 100%.

If you are considering attending a beginners workshop-please just look in to it more and take the courage to book up- cause you won't look back.

On a final note I just want to say thank you to not only the brave and inspirational people I have met this weekend but also to UKPT for reaching out further afield to support us Scottish (and Irish!) folk as there is clearly a demand up here for it.

I wish every one of you all the best in your journey to recovery

D :)
