I was on the fence about whether to attend a workshop, but having just got back from the Reading beginners' workshop, I can honestly say that deciding to attend was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
I was very nervous about attending, but I was soon put at ease by the fantastic workshop leaders, whom I cannot speak highly enough of. I was blown away by their knowledge, passion, empathy, dedication and professionalism. The content of the workshop was excellent but the sensitive, yet engaging way in which it was delivered was even better.
What was clear from the outset was that I was in control. There was no pressure to share anything I was uncomfortable with sharing, or do anything I was uncomfortable with doing. I was free to go at my own pace, but with the guidance and advice of the workshop leaders.
Everyone attending the workshop was in a similar position to me and I found it valuable to open up about my experiences and hear from others about their experiences in a confidential, judgement-free setting.
The workshop exceeded my expectations and I am amazed at the progress I have made in such a short space of time. I am extremely grateful to UKPT and the incredible people who dedicated their time to helping us this weekend. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!
If you are affected by this condition and you are unsure about whether to attend a workshop, I would strongly recommend attending. You won't regret it.
