I have been battling with Paruresis for 20+ years, without really knowing what it was called or making any progress in solving it. Its fair to say its been affecting quite a lot of my life, constraining some of the things I do and creating stress and anxiety.

Being embarrassed about it, I procrastinated for a long time before booking myself on to a course, I’m so glad I did.

Attending the beginners course in Reading I found:
- It was great to finally discuss it with a group of friendly and helpful people also facing the same challenges and realising I wasn’t alone.
- The course was extremely professionally ran by people who cared about helping people with Paruresis
- There was no judgement, only help and support
- The facilitators, were extremely helpful, knowledgable and had them selves had suffered with Paruresis
- I learnt a lot about why it happens and how to adapt my mindset
- I made real progress over the weekend and felt really confident about making further progress.

I popped into a busy toilet on the way home and found the workshop had really helped make a huge difference.

If anyone reading this is considering attending a course or not, I strongly recommend attending as it really helped me.

Huge thanks to everyone else in attendance and the UKPT team.

thanks

David
