I went to a beginners workshop approx 10 years ago. The group comprised of mainly men, but there were three ladies - Mary, Daphne and I. Cathy and I had written to each other before the workshop and came to see us on the first night which was lovely. I was surprised at the progress I made over the weekend. I didn't go to the follow up workshop partly as I felt my problem wasn't as severe as the others - I know that wasn't very sensible. Although the problem still reappears sometimes and I don't ever think I will be able to go on a plane - it is vastly improved. I have had paruresis since I was a very young child and I am now in my early sixties. The worst thing as most people that suffer know it is all those years thinking you are the only one.
