One thing the book doesnt talk about is 'faking it' - i.e. going into urinals when you dont need to go.
I have found this a good way to desense on the workshops and in my own time.
The idea is you get used to public toilets and you get used to 'not peeing' - so it doesnt cause so much anxiety when you do need to pee.
The thing about the workshop is you will do many of the techniques in the book - desensing etc - but you'll be doing it around other sufferers so its much more relaxed - you'll feel very safe and you're never pushed out of your comfort zone.
The places we used during the workshop were carefully chosen so as to be AP friendly - an option that often does not exist in your home town. Being away from your home town also gives a nice feeling of anonymity508
