This is so difficult to explain. but, as always, I'll try.
I've noticed over the years that, when a person who has money, or the support of friends and family when they don’t have money, they don’t understand how difficult things can be for a person who has no money and no family support while they get back on their feet. There is no other family I can stay with while I get back on my feet. There is no possible way for me to go out and buy caths. Right now, I have to make the choice of paying the elec bill or to buy food. And if anyone who reads this, who doubts the position I am in, I invite you to come see for yourself. Everything right now, evolves around money and getting a job. Without that, I'm basically screwed, and my lease ends at the end of Dec. Buying caths are the least of my worries right now. I have been scrambling since June to find work and not having any luck whatsoever. I have never been faced with abandoning my things before and as these weeks are passing, that seems to be a very real reality. At this moment in time, I don’t need caths, I need a job, or I will be homeless in two months...
I also live in the States, not the UK. In the States, my current health issues (obtaining caths) are not something you go to the emergency room for. And going to see a doctor without health insurance is not possible. They require payment at the time of visit.
Being in this position, has forced me to see the true value of our system. It's a shame we have a system that basis the value of life, on how much money someone has.
I will also add...a couple of weeks ago, I filled out more applications online. Since then, they've sent me a couple of emails. For some strange out of the blue reason (gut feeling), I decided to take the names in those emails and do a google search on them...what I found shocked me. The site I submitted my personal information at, turns out to be a scam. So that means, at some point in the future, my identity will most likely be stolen...484
