How this forum works

This forum is for men and women who find it difficult or impossible to urinate in a public or social situation. It is maintained and moderated by the U.K. Paruresis Trust (UKPT), a registered UK Charity (no: 1109541). The people involved with the UKPT are all unpaid volunteers who themselves have or have had this condition. Note however that we are not medically or psychologically trained; any advice comes only from our own experience.

The ethos of this forum is to be welcoming, supportive, non-judgemental, and positive. The aim is to provide a safe place to “talk” to others who understand what you are going through. You can tell your story, ask questions, ask for advice, celebrate a success, and unload about a problem. You can reply to existing messages, in which case we ask you to do so in like spirit. Please bear in mind that this forum may be the only place where individuals can air their anxiety about their peeing issues, so be respectful.

It is totally private: if you feel that even signing yourself John or Joan is a dead give-away, then use an alias.

As the forum is here for issues to do with paruresis (Shy Bladder Syndrome), it is open to everyone regardless of gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, political persuasion, or disabilities. It is not here for the promotion of any other issues.

The forum is moderated on a daily basis to ensure:
a) that postings are answered as necessary
b) that postings are edited where necessary for purposes of clarity
c) that postings are edited where necessary to remove any terms or phrases that could cause offence, or could lead to difficulties with search engines
d) that any malicious or inappropriate postings are removed
e) that any malicious posters are blocked

To be able to moderate this forum, postings have to be in English. Unless by prior agreement, postings in foreign languages will be deleted.

So… we hope this helps to explain things…enjoy.
