Experiencing severe bladder spasms due to an infection, caused by holding for too long. I'm on medication & advised it will improve in a few days. Don't feel I can go out until it subsides. Anybody out there had a simular experience?

I've had huge problems with bladder infections due to holding on too long. If I catch it early enough I sometimes find that some of the branded cytitis powders, cranberry juice and lemon barley water are enough to head it off, but usually I need antibiotics to clear it. I have found ways of minimising the risk which work reasonably well for me most of the time. I drink a lot of water to try to promote a good flow when I am in situations where I know I won't have a problem. If I'm in situations which I know will be challenging I take cranberry capsules - the medical evidence for their effectiveness is ambiguous but I figure they won't be harmful and might just help. Like you, I don't feel I can go out when I have a bladder infection. I usually find that things start to improve pretty quickly once I start taking medication - I do hope you're starting to feel an improvement.
