Thank you Ann -its good to hear your important feedback & personal experience, I'm out to listen and learn as much as I can. Often people come for treatment when their circumstances change such as moving jobs or change of relationships and I'm aware that my offer out of the blue will fall on fallow ground for a lot of people here because like yourself you have found a way to live a largely normal life. When we get anxious and overthink then our bodies react accordingly - for you that's your paruresis for others that may be a flare up of IBS or a skin condition - all of which relate to that mind - body connection. Our minds can not determine the difference between reality and what we imagine - anxiety is us imagining what we fear may happen rather than using our minds to focus on what we want to happen. Underneath can be a feeling of not feeling good enough and having to do more. So you might want to stop in the moment and start your thought with How can I........or What can I do to............your mind can then be searching for ways to help rather than you creating those bad feelings. Hope that helps
