Just signed up to my first workshop - also London meet

I found the UKPT about 6 or 7 years ago; but I haven't done anything but ponder the invites the workshops.
Today I've finally signed up and already I'm looking forward to making some progress on this persistent, annoying, habit/phobia/anxiety that has bothered me for about 25 years (I'm 40). I certainly recall being 14 or early 15 and being fine, but having a this problem by 16. Almost certainly it was due to changing schools at 16 but I do recall the usual teenage anxieties being on mind a lot (all of which are obvious and rather silly now to a 40 year old family man).
I'm not sure why now really. But it does feel like it is time I sorted this out. Life is good, career, family, health are all pretty much where I want to be, but this phobia (which is how I see it) now seems like a hindrance and how I've coped in the past, are just avoidance strategies rather than managing the problem.
So I'm open-minded and determined to get this done.
I still haven't told my wife and I'm not sure I will. I'm not sure she'll understand or tolerate me having "hid" this for so long, but I'm tempted to give it a go after Christmas.
I have read down the forum (my first post in 2006 or 2007 is long gone!) and I can recognize many of the issues others have. Fortunately I am usually able to go using cubicles - it is really just urinals that I haven't used for 25 years.
Finally I also see there are occasional London group meets. I'd to be included if I may, just to share a beer and help where I can.

Re: Just signed up to my first workshop - also London meet
hi and briefly, you’re where I was 18 months ago, cubicles/fine, urinals/nightmare/never used them/rarely went in a public loo.
I’m desensing pretty much weekly in central London with a couple of other guys and we’re all making great progress. Others are welcome to come along. We meet early evening and always end up in a pub.
You’ll soon be using the busiest urinals imaginable in St Pancras station .. I kid you not!!
(bear in mind we’ve all been on workshops - I can’t say whether it’s a good idea to start desensing before you ‘graduate’ ;-) so maybe you want to wait until after your workshop, then again you've been reading this forum for years ...
I can say the workshop will lift an immense weight off your shoulders and arm you with the info and the drive to greatly reduce the size of this problem. And being in London you have the best desensing arena imaginable.
