I thought I was such a freak queuing for cubicles.
It is such a limiting problem though, when I go out I can only have one or two drinks because I cant use the toilets. I'm 17, if i went to the doctors, would they refer me to a psychologist? how expensive are they?
Loads of men prefer cubicles to busy urinals: look at the other guys in the queue: do they really look like freaks? Of course not.
Having said that, it is very worthwhile to address the issue and to get rid of the condition. Going to a GP is a lottery: some understand the condition, a lot do not. The ideal is to get referred to a urolgist, to check there is no physical contributing factor: then to be referred to a clinical psychologist for CBT. Its all on the NHS so does not cost; however though urologists are easy to see, clinical psychologists tend to have long waiting lists. But go ahead. If you want a brochure to take with you, send me an email.
And when you turn 18, book onto a workshop: that will kick-start you onto the road for recovery.
Well done for finding the website and message board! Yes there are plenty more of us hehehe. I was really young when mine started, however by the time I got to roughly your age it was at its peak and stayed there for several years.
My Dad introduced me to this group back then and I was way to scared to even consider a workshop back then. I kick my self now for not tackling it when I had the chance. So what I would say to you is you will dfinatly benefit from a workshop so be sure to get on one at some point.
Hi, it would be really great if you could send some stuff to the email i've shown, to take to the doctors.. i am embarrassed they might think i am crazy if they have never heard of it! I didn't actually know it was an actual condition, i feel so relieved
