Its easy to fall into a trap. Say you had a broken leg: you would see yourself as Kevin who has a broken leg, and that will change. You would not see yourself as a broken leg called Kevin, that will always be a broken leg called kevin!
So it is with shy bladder. You are Kevin who happens to have shy bladder and that can change. You are not a shy bladder called Kevin, and certainly not for ever.
Get along to our workshop in January, see the notice above, and you will meet others in the same boat. You may even meet someone who cannot pee in cubicles at all. You have half your life yet to live yet, so it is worth doing what it takes to make it better. The oldest man to come on a workshop was 85, cos he was persuaded it was worth enjoying his remaining years - he has not regretted it. So get in touch quick.
As for your dad hating urinals: this suggests that he never showed you how to use public toilets when you were a kid. That is one cause of shy bladder. But it can be learnt, as many have found.
As for being gay; that can be a burden if you live in a homophobic area; but hundreds of thousands of gay people lead fulfilling lives, even as MPs etc. So it is not really a bar. It certainly is not a bar to attending a workshop.
Cheers
