I have paruresis when I feel there's pressure to pee quickly like on aircraft or on a coach trip when there's only a 10 minute toilet stop.
I also get partial symptoms when emotionally distressed. I always use a cubicle as a matter of routine. English urinals would be impossible for me to use.
I've done London to Bangkok and Sydney to Hong Kong flights without being able to pee at all... utterly terrifying
I hate flying anyway but now I'll only do European flights since, with planning, I don't need to pee at all on the plane.
I have other issues apart from paruresis but I know it's completely psychosomatic but i can't cure it.
I use diazepam and temazepam to help with the underlying 'quiet hysteria' which develops inside me when I can't pee.378
